ROOIBOS FACE RINSE To soothe and refresh your skin, make a Rooibos face rinse.

  • Add two Rooibos teabags to three cups of boiled water.
  • Allow to cool to lukewarm and use to rinse your face.

This soothes and refreshes your skin.

Tip: Rooibos has anti-allergic properties that soothe eczema and skin irritations. Add a few bags to your bath water to soothe irritated skin.

Using an herbal facial toner will calm sensitive skin and alleviate any temporary redness and inflammation. It’s also a great way to prepare your skin for serums and moisturisers.

Rooibos and lemon toner

Mix a ¼ cup of strong Rooibos tea (cooled down), with a ¼ cup of lemon juice.

Moisten some cotton wool with the cooled Rooibos and lemon mixture to tone your skin. Leave on for 10 minutes, before rinsing with lukewarm Rooibos water (add a tea bag to your rinsing water). Never rinse your face with warm water as this will open the pores.

If you have any of the mixture left, you can store it in an airtight container in your fridge for about a week.

Having great skin, requires a regular routine of deep cleansing and moisturising. Using natural ingredients from your kitchen pantry, like Rooibos, avocado and honey to make a DIY face mask will save you the cost of an expensive salon treatment and give you the same results.

Rooibos, Honey and Avocado face mask

 

You need:

  • 1 tablespoon of mashed avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of plain full-fat yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 50ml of strong Rooibos tea (cooled down)

Tip: you can add a teaspoon of lemon juice which will stop the avo from oxidising and turning brown

Mix all the ingredients together and apply to skin. Leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm Rooibos water.
