The Rooibos Council is managed by a Board of Directors elected from and by its members to represent the various stakeholders in the Rooibos value chain. The board currently consists of the following industry representatives:
The board’s functions are enhanced by a number of industry task teams and committees who share responsibility and decision-making for key portfolios, e.g. Cultivation Research, Product Research, Market Development, and Intellectual Property Rights Protection. Industry members and representatives from government, conservation agencies and NGOs (non-government organisations) participate on committee level to ensure effective coordination of the Council’s portfolios. The board and its portfolio committees are supported by the Rooibos Secretariat that acts as the industry coordination and information dissemination unit. |
